PokaYoke: Innovi reduces 80% administrative errors
Mistakes create waste. Poka Yoke is the specific tool used in the Lean approach, aiming at preventing mistakes becoming defects, by implementing this efficient and easy-to-use device.

Innovi Technologies Co. Ltd. is a professional telecommunication device company, which focusing in Bluetooth headsets and other mobile phone accessories. Facing the continuous development of business, Innovi decided to implement Poka Yoke in the company-24145s administrative and supporting activities. TQM Consultants Co., Ltd is honorably appointed as Innovi-24145s consultant in this project.

In this project, TQM assisted in establishing a Poka Yoke Improvement Scheme (PYIS) to formalize all improvement activities. An incentive program has been introduced in boosting staff morale and scheme efficiency during the implementation. In addition, TQM provides Poka Yoke and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) training for the staffs, about how to implement Poka Yoke, TQM consultants categorize, explain and coach the Innovi-24145s staffs.

Under the lead of TQM-24145s consultants and top management of Innovi-24145s, the implementation of Poka Yoke achieved in great results, which included: more than 80% of administrative errors in predefined scope has been reduced; Over 100 of administrative errors during the project term has been identified and resolved; 2 administrative processes (staff resignation and sales kit production) has been redressed by FMEA; permanent and smooth run of PYIS in Innovi linked up the on-going improvement activities as a unity.

These remarkable achievements have proven Innovi-24145s staffs go through the philosophy of continual improvement successfully. By the mean time, an ever-improving administrative system has been established.
