TQM enjoys the benefits brought from the application of Six-Sigma, so do our prestige partners, Intertek. Intertek ETL SEMKO division invited TQM to deliver a 2-day Six Sigma Champion Training to their Asia Pacific regional management. These participants are senior management coming from various areas.
Intertek's management team learnt actively and showed impressive participation during the training. All of them took part in the process mapping activities, not just sitting passively in the class. During the training, both TQM and Intertek shared their minds on Six Sigma. All agreed that it is more than only a technical tool for statistics. It is the concept on how we address our customer, listen and interpret correctly the "voice of customers" and perform actions accordingly. In fact, many enterprises nowadays fail to identify their real customers, customers' needs and requirements. During the session, our trainer, Ir. Dr. TONG, highlighted the key elements in Six Sigma and facilitated the management team to identify potential applications of Six Sigma in Intertek. Ir. Dr TONG also coached on the Intertek team for the Process Mapping constructed by the participants. All were surprised by the mapping outcome and analysis.
By the end of the training course, Intertek's management agreed and appreciated Six Sigma as a useful and valuable management tool. For sure, we are all looking forward to the excellence of Intertek.
