LEAN Implementation helped Artesyn maximize resources and enhance productivity
Nowadays, world economy grows rapidly with fierce market competition. Enterprises have realized the importance of implementing LEAN Manufacturing to enhance their productivity and competitiveness. As an industry pioneer, Artesyn Technologies Asia-Pacific Ltd. (Artesyn) had implemented the Just-in-Time Manufacturing System which is originated from Japan, and deserved Governor's Award: Productivity Grand Award and Quality Grand Award.

At present, Artesyn still keep ahead in the industry and continue to apply LEAN concept in their production facilities to further enhance productivity and quality performance.

As the implementation of LEAN manufacturing involves dramatic changes in the production set up and processes, the entire enterprise need to work whole-heartedly with endurance. Under the persistent leadership and staff commitment in Artesyn, the LEAN manufacturing has been implemented with great success.

Recently, Ir. Dr. TONG, managing director of TQM CONSULTANTS CO LTD came round to revisit Artesyn's production line, while he was doing a consultancy project for them. Artesyn has applied ERP system from SAP in manufacturing workshop, an electronic 「Kanban」is widely used to adjust the logistics between workshops. As a result, there are almost no WIP (work in process) stock products in workshops. Artesyn's application of LEAN Manufacturing not only brings the enterprise a cleaner and clearer manufacturing environment, but also improves the productivity and minimizes wastage.
