The Production Management Seminar: Innovative Workflow Management in the Production Line was successfully held on September 12, 2006 at Tsim Sha Tsui Langham Hotel organised by The Federation of Hong Kong Industries, The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers - Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering Division (hereafter called HKIE - MIE Division) and SAP. The seminar invited a number of experienced scholars and manufacturers as the honoured guests; they discussed and exchanged views on the topic of innovative workflow in production management during the seminar.
Among them, Ir. Dr. Aaron W. K. TONG, the chairman of HKIE - MIE Division, provided a speech on reducing production cost and waste time by the implementation of LEAN manufacturing management, which eventually helped develop an enthusiastic atmosphere of the seminar.
During the seminar, Ir. Dr. TONG pointed out the implementation of LEAN manufacturing management is the key to the success of a company, through analyzing the change in market competitions, change in customer demands, change in resource costs, and the current status. Ir. Dr. TONG not only shared the methods of implementing LEAN manufacturing management with the participants, but also invited Ir. Y. H. LI, Managing Director of Practical Group, to share the experience of his company in significantly improved the assembly lines productivity by 30% through working closely with Ir. Dr. TONG and his team.
