ISO/ TS16949:2002 is developed and designed by IATF members. It is now aggressively
adopted by many automotive-related manufacturers and believed to become a new
market trend.
On 26th March 2004 TQM Consultants Co. Ltd, Hong Kong Society for Quality and
SGS Hong Kong Ltd. have co-organized a seminar to introduce this specification.
During the seminar, Dr. Aaron TONG from TQM, Mr. Vincent CHUNG from SGS and
Mr. Karson CHUI from Hong Kong Society for Quality (Shared the case of Motorola
Semiconductors Hong Kong Ltd.) have shared their practical experience in the
perspective of business consultant, auditor and executor respectively. With
Dr. TONG’s vivid and invaluable experience sharing, the participants have not
only gained thorough understanding to the goal of TS16949, but also induced
new insights of how to implement the system effectively.
Being conscious about the academic development of Quality Management, TQM has
also sponsored the 2002/03 Student Project Competition, which aims at enhancing
the interests of undergraduates in Quality Management. The award ceremony had
been held after the seminar. The prizewinners of this year are Ms. Murphy LAM
and Ms. CHAN Lai Man from HKU and Mr. MO Yiu Wing from HKUST. The champion is
Ms. Murphy Lam, who has demonstrated outstanding performance in her project
