HKCSS empowers public servants by strategic planning training
With the downturn in the economy and the ever increasing demand for better services,
HK social services organizations are now proactively seeking for reform and having
to consider funding sources, service revenue, service efficiency, effectiveness
and uniqueness. Strategic planning has become vital. In order to assist its 300
agency members to cope with the current situation, The Hong Kong Council of Social
Service (HKCSS), a non-governmental welfare organization, invited TQM to deliver
a series of training courses to equip its agency members with practical skills
for conducting internal improvements.
Given the special working environment of social service industry, our principal
consultant, Mr. Vincent Cheng, designed and delivered two tailor-made workshops
on "Strategic Planning" and "Performance Management Systems"
to HKCSS's agency members. The feedback was very positive. Most of the participants
were executive directors, managers and senior executives coming from more than
20 agencies including Caritas - HK, Helping Hand, HK Catholic Marriage Advisory
Council, Heep Hong Society; Pok Oi Hospital, Scout Association of HK, Yan Oi
Tong Ltd., etc. Through a series of well-designed lectures, exercise, discussions
and games, the participating agency members acquired hands-on skills and experience
in applying the concepts to their organization. |
