Companies in technology business are getting into keener and keener competition
nowadays. They need not only innovation but also effective management to sustain
growth and survive in the marketplace.
TQM is invited by the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park Corporation (HKSTP)
as the host of its Company Assessment and Improvement Programme (CAIP), in an
attempt to help HKSTP’s tenants and incubate companies to improve their business
performance.
An introductory seminar was conducted on February 24, 2005, utilizing the success
stories of Apple and Google to demonstrate the importance of management tools
in business. The seminar was followed by three full-day training courses in
April on topics including Product Actuation Time Excellence, Business Process
Re-engineering, and Team Building & Enhancement.
Directors and top executives participating in the seminar and training courses
were inspired by the various management tools they could utilize in business
improvement. Not only did they get insights into business excellence, they took
action to improve their operational performance by further enrolling in the
HKSTP-funded company assessment programme.
In this programme, TQM will assist these participating companies to analyze
their current business performance, needs, and goals. According to the data
assessed, room for improvement will be identified and recommendations on how
to realize it will be made.
