LEAN Case Sharing ¨C Toy Industry

The company has over 10 years of professional experience in toys manufacturing, through effective self-improvement it has gradually formed a flexible, rigorous and humanistic management system. During the past years, the company shows the development of a vivid manufacturing model and its successful operation gives a positive inspiration on the same type of enterprises, especially toys, gifts, and other labour-intensive and cost sensitive units of the manufacturing sector. In order to put LEAN Manufacturing into effect, our Consultants assisted the company to implement LEAN Manufacturing.

Project Achievements

  • Changed the painting method, and helped to bring cost saving of over HK$2 million for just 1 single project
  • Improved motivation and assessed functions of spraying department, increased the efficiency by 23% to save cost of HK$1.6 million per month
  • The total cycle time of controlled/major products has been reduced from 40 to 15 days, 62.5% cycle time has been saved
  • Largely reduced the inventory of semi-finished production by 70%
  • The profit was more than 25 times higher than the cost of input for improvement (including consultancy fee and tools improvement etc.)
  • The results of improvement helped to develop a positive mindset in the staff and made them become more supportive and positive for senior management
