Civil Aviation Department: Pursuing High-Quality Management and Walking at the Forefront of ICAO
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government awarded a consultancy contract to TQM to provide consultancy services to the Civil Aviation Department to assist the Telecommunications Section of the Air Traffic Management Department to establish a quality management system and obtain ISO 9001:2008 quality management system certification.
The Civil Aviation Department is responsible for overseeing the civil aviation business in Hong Kong and also plays the role of “air traffic and navigation service provider”. The mission of the Civil Aviation Department is to work on a safe and efficient aviation system, so it has extremely high requirements for service quality. This time, the establishment of an ISO 9001:2008 quality management system for the telecommunications team can raise the quality of telecommunications services to a higher level.
At the project kick-off meeting held on November 8, 2011, Mr Wang Binghui, JP, Assistant Director of the Air Traffic Management Department of the Civil Aviation Department, welcomed TQM to provide services to the Civil Aviation Department and was confident that with TQM’s rich experience in quality management, he could successfully serve The telecommunications team obtained ISO 9001:2008 quality management system certification.
Mr Fang Yizhao, Chief Air Traffic Control Officer, also hopes that the implementation of ISO 9001:2008 quality management system certification can further enhance the international recognition of the Civil Aviation Department. In line with the concept of sustainable development, the Civil Aviation Department will strive for excellence and provide the highest quality services to contribute to Hong Kong’s aviation industry.
